Jin (Arabic: جن Janna) literally means something that connotes "hidden" or "invisible". The Jinn were once said to occupy several places in the heavens and hear the news from God, after the sending of a prophet named Muhammad they could no longer hear him because there was a line keeping the secret.
The word jinn by language (Arabic) is derived from the word ijtinan, which means istitar (hidden).
So the jinn according to the language means something hidden and subtle, while shaitan is the nature of every ungodly of the jinns and humans.
Basic Element
As to the origin of the genie, God explains, if the first man was created from the land, the jinn were created from a very hot fire, described in Al-Hijr and Ar-Rahman
They also argue that the meaning of "very hot fire" (nar al-samum) or "flame" (nar) in the word of God above is "pure fire". Ibn Abbas once interpreted it as "fire", as quoted in Tafsir Ibn Kathir.
In another narration from Ibn Abbas: "From the embers of fire." This history is found in Tafsir Ibn Kathir. His argument from the hadith of Aisha's history, that the Muhammad

Physical Form
The jinn are said to have horns, [*] small in size [*] in other stories are said to be small like flies [*] have wings. [*]
Horn :
Amr bin Abasah narrates that Rasulallah

(Narrated by Muslim 832)
Concerning the understanding of these two horns of Satan according to Imam Nawawi the scholars differ, there is a meaning that when the human prayers fit at that time then the devil will follow with both horns and some who argue when the kafir sujud to the sun then the devil stood there to think it is he who is worshiped, there is also a figurative interpretation that the horn there means is the pride of the devil.
(Saheeh Muslim bi Syarh An Nawawi Juz IV / 124)
Small in Size :
In another hadith also mentioned that if recited bismillah, jinn will shrink by the fly (maybe this is the original size of jin). Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal in his musnad narrated from the father of Abu Al-Malih, a man named Osama bin Umari, he was ridden by Rasulallah

(Hadith narrated by Ahmad 5:95, Abu Dawud 4982, An-Nasa'i, Nawawi, Al-Hakim, Mardawaid and validated by Al-Albani)
Wings :
Imam adh-Dhahhak was once asked: "Does the devil have wings?" He replied: "How can they fly to heaven if they have no wings?"
(Hadith Narated by. Ibn Jarir)
According to the teachings of Islam, jinn can see humans, but otherwise humans can not see them in their original form. If any man can see the jinn, then the genie he sees is a genie that is incarnate in the form of a being that can be seen by the human eye.
Then no one can see the jinn, unless they change themselves (incarnate) in various forms. Only the Prophetc and the Messengers are able to see the original form.
"Verily the devil appeared before me to break my prayer. But God gave me power to face it. So I let it. Actually I want to tie it in a pole until you can watch it. But I remembered the words of my brother Sulayman 'Alaihissalam:' Ya Rabbi grant me a kingdom no one has after me '. So God cast him out in contempt. "
(Narrated by Al-Bukhari no 4808, Muslim No. 541 from Abu Hurairah)
One time the Prophet

(HR Ahmad, 3 / 82-83 from Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri).
There are several narrations that explain that they change themselves into various forms such as:
- Being a poor man,
- Became a Shaykh of Najd,
- Shaped snakes,
- Shaped mouse.

Jin can manifest like any human being except the figure of the Prophet Muhammad

Abu Hurairah, may Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَ تَعَالَى be pleased with him, reported: The Messenger

(Saheeh Muslim No.4206)
Hadith narated by Abu Qatadah's Hadith, he says: The Messenger

(Saheeh Muslim No.4208)
Some animals were blessed to see jinn, such as donkeys and dogs :
We narrated in Sunan Abu Dawud; from Jabir bin Abdullah radiyallahu 'anhu, he said, "The Messenger

Shahih: Narrated by Ibn Abi Shyaibah no. 29797; Ahmad 3/306 and 355; Abd bin Humaid no. 1157-Muntakhab; al-Bukhari in al-Adab al-Mufrad, no. 1234; Abu Dawud, Kitab al-Adab, Chapter ad-Dik wa al-Bahaim, 2/748, no. 5103; Abu Ya'la no. 2221 and 2327; Ibn Hibban no. 5517 and 5518; ath-Thabrani in ad-Du'a` no. 2008; al-Hakim 4/283; al-Baghawi no. 3060: from various paths, from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Muhammad bin Ibrahim bin al-Harith, from Atha` bin Yasar, from Jabir to the hadith.
Al-Hasan Al-Basri said: "The devil does not belong to the angel at all, the Devil is the origin of the jinn, as Adam was the origin of man." Then according to Asy-Shaykh Abdurrahman ibn Nasir As-Sa'di added : "The Devil is abu al-jan (the father of the jinn)
Al-Hasan Al-Basri.. He states: "The devil has never been an angel of twinkling at all, and he is indeed the origin of the jinn, as Adam is the origin of man." Narrated Ibn Jarir in the commentary of Al-Kahf verse 50, and uttered by Ibn Kathir in His interpretation.
The History of Jin's and Satan
When the first man was created, then God commanded the angels and Azazil to prostrate before Adam. Immediately Azazil refused to prostrate, then he was called by God with Satan's sentence. So this Devil is the "First Satan", because he was the first to rebel on God's command.
Syaithan in Arabic according to Ibn Jarir, is actually an adjective that can show any ungodly to God, whether from the genies, humans, animals, or anything far from good, this opinion is reinforced in the Surah Al-An 'am:
Assh-Shaykh Muqbil bin Hadi was once asked about the differences of jinn and demons, he replied: "The JInn covers the devil, but there are also the righteous. Satan was created to turn people away and mislead them. Then the righteous jinn, they hold fast to their religion, have mosques and pray only to the extent that they know their knowledge. It's just that the majority of them are stupid. "
Types and Classifications
Jinn consists of three groups, those with wings and flying in the air, a group of snakes and a nomad group.
Rasulallah

Hadith Abu Tsa'labah radiyallohu anhu, narrated by Ath Thabrani (22 / 214-215) no. 573, Al Baihaqi in "Al Asma wa Ash Shifat" (827), Al Hakim (2/456) and validated by Shaykh Al Albani Rahimahullah in ta'liqnya against the Book "Al Misykaat" (4148) and Shaykh Us Al Wadi'i Rahimahullah in "Ash Shahiih Al Musnad Mimma Laisa Fii Ash Shahihain" (1213)
How to breed
The Jinn have sex of the same kind as men, women and men, they are able to multiply and breed. Then the Jin people are also believed to be dead before the doomsday comes, except the Devil whose age has been suspended.
Ibn'Abbas radhiyallahu 'anhuma narrates that the Prophet

(Narrated by Bukhari no 7383 and Muslim no. 2717)

By the power of God, the Jin can not see the Angels, even though they are both supernatural beings. This is based on the story of the death of Solomon, when He was leading Jin's work. The Jinn do not know that Prophet Sulayman has died. His body fell down because his staff was vulnerable to eating by termites. [ King Solomon is the same with Prophet Sulayman ]
" This article answers a fundamental question
about the difference of ghost form in each region of the countries.
The fundamental question is: Why are ghosts in every place different in form? For example westerners are more familiar with Vampires, Africans know Voodoo, Southeast Asian people especially Indonesia know the ghosts' Pocong ", etc. This can be seen from the work of horror cinema in these countries.
The ghostly form of embodiment is not their original form. The power of human imagination in a region of countries greatly influences the manifestation of ghosts. The frightening forms imagined by a person can affect the apparition of ghosts that some people can see. "
