بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
In the name of Allah, the Gracious, the Merciful
19 Have they not seen the birds above them, spreading their wings, and folding them? None holds them except the Compassionate. He is Perceiver of everything.
This is inseparable from the incredibly flawless design of the perfect wing technique, as the perfect flight according to the needs of each bird. Bird wings are also referred to as hand wings because all of its parts function to form wings complete with wing motion control system, as a lift generator or sebgai propulsion system thrust generator force.
Muscle structures, joint bones and feathers functioned additively to change the shape of the cross section and the wing surface in accordance with the conditions and configuration of the fly.
As a flying machine, birds are a highly integrated design system. Hollow and strong bones meet the requirements of lightweight structures, air pockets inside the bone cavity with feathers on the wings and bodies functioning perfectly as a respiratory system and regulating heat dissipation in a balanced way. His body in the design as light as possible with the form of a very aerodynamic wings.
Biomechanics of wing motion of wings in birds
The fluttering wings in the birds doubles as a lift-generating force, as well as a thrust generator.
Movement of the wings on the fly according to the cycle path with a very complex pattern. Shaping downward, forward, upward and backward movements with elliptical trajectory, eighth digit or other closed trajectory form.
The energy required in wing movement, wing flap speed and heat dissipation settings due to repetitive flapping motion of the wings while flying, require the existence of a highly complex and sophisticated biomechanical system.
Symptoms of a lifting force on the wings of birds
The air flowing on the surface of the bird's wings becomes thinner (density decreases) from the air generally, so the pressure above the bird wing also becomes lower, but on the underside of the wing occurs the opposite: air thickens (density increases) from the air generally. So the pressure becomes increased.
Both of these cause the speed at the upper surface of the wing to become faster and the underside of the wing becomes slower.
Because it will awaken the lift style on the wings of birds.
Some functions of birds in the Qur'an
Basically what the birds do to the story in the Qur'an can be done by humans. For example: preaching activities (Bird: Hud-hud), being a journalist (Bird: Merpati), being a military force (Bird: Ababil), etc.
Science of a Bird Fly
In the Science of Modern Physics, there is some science that we can take from birds when he flies.
LIFT FORCE (Lift Style)
There are two things that can cause lifting force on the bird when flying: flutter its wings and airflow passing through the wings. When a bird flaps its wings down, the body of the bird presses the air down, consequently the air will push back and simultaneously push the bird's body up (action-reaction law).
In the picture above,
the air passing through the wing surface will flow faster,
because it has to travel a further path.
As a result, the air pressure above the wing is smaller than under the wing. This pressure difference gives lift to the bird's body. The more curved the wings (the more aerodynamic), then the lift is greater.
DRAG FORCE (Air-Stress Style)
This style comes from the collisions of air molecules and bird body. The direction of the drag is always opposite to the direction of the bird's movement. While the big drag, very dependent on the surface area of the bird and its flying speed. The more surface area of the bird's body and the faster it flies, the drag force increases.
THRUST (Style Thrust)
It is the force that pushes the bird's body forward. This force is generated from the flaps of its wings that move like the number 8 in the position of falling. (when viewed from the side). The flap of the wings produces an air vortex, so it can push forward the bird's body
Weight. (The Force of Gravity of the Earth)
It is a gravitational attraction with the earth. The size depends on the mass of the bird. With the downward vertical direction.
The combination of these four styles is used by a bird to perform various flying attractions such as: fly forward, fly parachute, fly gliding quickly, and fly soaring. And the four basic techniques that are used to develop modern aircraft today.
